YOUR PERSONAL ACCOUNT

So many people I know get overly involved in other people's business. They have poor boundaries- they usually can't say no, and they're afraid to let someone go through their pain. They want everyone to feel good at their own unhappiness or pain. Sound familiar?

What can one do?

The rule would be to ask yourself if whatever you are contemplating- does it get you closer to where you want to be or further? Or another way of thinking would be to see everything as a plus or minus. Is what you are agreeing to do adding to your personal reserve energetically or taking away? Doing something you would rather not do would be taking away or minusing from your personal reserve and probably isn't a good thing to do.

As Esther Hicks would say, you want to float downstream, and not paddling against the current.

Every time you paddle against the current you are creating discord, and energetically weighing yourself down. This is why so many mothers complain of being tired- they process everyone else's emotions and are always pitching in when they would rather not. Learn to say "no" more often and without guilt! Practice a "self-first" motto and fill your own cup before touching anothers. Men have no issue with taking care of themselves, so watch how they do it in action.

Also, if someone wants to engage you in a disagreement or entanglement of some kind, you have a choice as to whether or not to play. Why would you want to defend yourself as if you are in the wrong? Walk away from such behavior. It doesn't prove anything except that you think you have something to prove. It's no different from a shouting match. Why would you waste your time screaming at another when they can't hear you? Energetically, isn't it so much easier to walk away? Some say it's being weak and but it truly shows strength by not allowing another to knock you off your center by engaging you in frivolous activity. Why get worked up over something that means nothing in the big picture?

By using these practices, you should find your energy improving in time. Give it a try!
